You say,
“Draw close to me,
and I’ll draw close to you.”
I wonder if you really care —
Sometimes.

You say,
“Pray constantly.”
I try to bare my heart,
throwing all my burdens on you —
Trusting.

They say,
“He doesn’t care
about any of us.”
And for a moment, I wonder —
“Do you?”

They say,
“There is no God.
It’s just a fairy tale.
You foolish girl — It’s make believe.”
They say.

I say,
“There is a God.
His name is Jehovah.
And He cares about me and you —
It’s true.”

You say,
“Pray constantly.”
And “I’ll draw close to you.”
I know it’s not a fairy tale.
It’s true!
